Is Your Lawn Infested With Grubs?

Lawn grubs are the larvae of beetles that eat the roots of your grass, and they are typically most active in late summer. These pests can kill sections of your lawn, and as they grow into beetles and begin creating more grubs, you could eventually end up with a completely dead lawn.

What are Lawn Grubs?

Lawn grubs grow into either chafer beetles or Japanese beetles. They can also occasionally come from other beetle species, but these are the most common.

How to Spot Lawn Grubs

The best way to tell if you have an infestation of lawn grubs is to cut into the soil and attempt to pull up the sod. If you can pull it up easily, this is a sign that grubs have eaten the root system of your lawn. Look under the grass for larvae, and if you find more than ten of these pests within a square foot of soil, you are dealing with an infestation. If you see many peoples on and around your property, this can also indicate that you may have lawn grubs.

When grubs damage your lawn, you may notice irregular brown patched in your yard. You may also see torn-up patches of lawn where crows and raccoons have dug into your yard to eat the grubs.

If you suspect that your lawn is infested with grubs, call an experienced pest control expert to apply pesticides to your property. Custom Lawn Care Inc. provides lawn pest control in Butler, PA, and the surrounding area.
